Things didn’t go our way at Ole Miss last night.
It was a not-that-bad loss that felt like a worse loss given the context.
If Tennessee had dropped a road game 78-76 in SEC play this season back in January or February it would have been understandable.
Nobody would have freaked out.
But considering we all but certainly lost any hope of a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament it felt like a bad loss.
Still, there were a couple bright spots from the game.
One was Zakai Zeigler’s performance moving the ball on offense.
Now, he didn’t do much in terms of scoring. And we could have used some more points out of him.
But he did register 15 assists vs. the Rebels. And that’s quite a feat.
Zeigler is the first player in Vol Hoops history with multiple 15-assist performances in a career, according to Vol Stats & Info.
“He owns both 15-assist showing by an SEC player this season and is one of two DI players (Ryan Nembhard) with multiple such outings in 2024-25.”
Tough game for the team on the glass. Tough game for some of the guys scoring.
But we’ve been lucky to have a legendary college ball distributor.
