The Vols came in at No. 5 in the final AP Poll of the year released today.
The best team to not make the Final Four, I suppose. Tough, but it is what it is.
Florida finished the season at No. 1 after winning last night’s national championship game.
Houston was second, Duke third, and Auburn fourth.
The Vols at least finished a spot ahead of Alabama, the SEC’s other No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
All in all, eight SEC teams were ranked in the final poll.
Ole Miss and Arkansas were new additions to the Top 25 after solid tourney performances. The Rebels ended up at 18th with the Hogs at 20th.
Kentucky ended the year at No. 12 with Texas A&M at No. 19.
Tennessee was also No. 5 in the final Coaches Poll.
