Vols Flip Instate Running Back from USC
By Tucker Harlin
Tennessee experienced a flip in the recruiting world Monday.
But it’s probably not the flip you thought you were going to see. One-time USC running back commitment Daune Morris flipped his decision from the Trojans to the Vols Monday evening.

Morris is an instate recruit from Murfreesboro, playing his high school football for the perennial powerhouse that is Oakland. He is primarily considered a three star among recruiting services, but Morris grades as a four star according to Rivals.
Morris is the second running back commitment the Vols have recruited for their 2025 class. Three star Justin Baker committed to Tennessee in October 2023 out of Buford, Georgia.
247Sports lists Morris under the designation of “athlete,” so there’s a possibility he can do more than run the football.
Baker and Morris will be understudies to DeSean Bishop, Peyton Lewis, and Cam Seldon in 2025. All of this, of course, is barring a decision from Dylan Sampson to stay in Knoxville or one of the Vols’ other three running backs to transfer.
