I guess whatever you do, don’t lose to Ole Miss on the road if you want to stay in the AP Top Five.

Tennessee is all the way down to No. 8 this week in the AP Top 25 poll after falling in Oxford last Wednesday.

Seems a bit drastic but the teams that jumped Tennessee all had pretty good weeks.

The Vols fell four spots after being ranked No. 4 last week.

Even in the win at home Saturday vs. South Carolina, the Vols didn’t look all that crisp.

Still, it was a 10-point victory.

None of this poll business matters much anyway at this point in the year.

It’s all about seeding, and we’re basically locked in as a No. 2 seed unless something goes horrifically wrong in the SEC Tournament.

Also in poll news, Auburn has finally dropped from No. 1 after taking two losses to end the regular season.

Is Bruce Pearl’s team falling apart at the worst possible time?

This week’s Top 10:

1. Duke

2. Houston

3. Auburn

4. Florida

5. Alabama

6. St. John’s

7. Michigan State

8. Tennessee

9. Texas Tech

10. Clemson
