Tucker’s Pizza Chain Power Rankings

Papa John’s

By Tucker Harlin

This is another radio tangent inspired list by yours truly.

The Blitz was about to end on Friday, and somehow we got into a discussion about Pizza Hut, so I had to come out with a new line of power rankings for pizza chains.

I’m really only taking into account the pizza here as opposed to other menu items, like desserts and wings.

I’ll try not to get hungry while writing this, but it may be a struggle.

1. JET’S

I’m a big fan of Detroit style pizza, so Jet’s was an easy option for the top choice on my list.

The overall flavor of the pizza is a nice balance between the other chain pizzas. Not sweet, but not tangy either.

The pan style crust is the most distinct from a chain I’ve had, and that’s something I’ve come to appreciate over the years.

2. PAPA JOHN’S

This one may be a little bit controversial but I admire the consistency in Papa John’s pizza.

You always know what you’re getting with the sweet sauce and fluffy crust, and it’s always been a staple at large gatherings I’ve attended.

Besides, John had over 40 pizzas in 30 days to hammer down the perfect formula.

3. DOMINO’S

Domino’s is the most flavorful pizzas among the chains, but I don’t enjoy it the same way I do Papa John’s and Jet’s.

“Spicy” is not the word I would use to describe Domino’s sauce, but it’s seasoned with something that gives it a different flavor than most other pizzas. The crust is very well seasoned.

It’s almost as if there’s too much going on with Domino’s for me to like it.

4. LITTLE CAESAR’S

Little Caesar’s is like Domino’s lite.

The Detroit-based company has always prided itself on its low prices, so that’s one positive about their pizza. It works well for large gatherings

The sauce has almost the exact same flavor as Domino’s, but the pizza’s not as well seasoned. An eat it if it’s there kind of pizza.

5. PIZZA HUT

Pizza Hut has always been a last resort for me if I want to order a chain pizza, and that sentiment has not changed.

A big part of this stems from a member of my family having a strange obsession with Pizza Hut over all of the other chains and the fact I knew the other chains were better.

The tanginess of the sauce is much worse than that of Domino’s and Little Caesar’s.
