Less than a week after Texas announced running back C.J. Baxter would miss the entirety of the 2024 season, another school in the Lone Star State broke similar news.

Rueben Owens, an important part of the three-headed monster in Texas A&M’s backfield, will miss all of 2024 with a knee injury.

Fortunately, there is a level of depth at the position as Amari Daniels and Le’Veon Moss both return from the 2023 squad.

The Aggies offense received its fair share of criticism in Jimbo Fisher’s final three seasons in College Station, but don’t let that overshadow the fact it was ravaged by injuries in all three seasons.

Kellen Mond’s 2020 season was the last to see a quarterback make it all the way through without injury.

Haynes King was lost for 2021 in the Aggies’ win over Colorado, so Zach Calzada game managed his way to 8-4.

2022 was the messiest season all around, beginning with wideout Ainias Smith going down just four games in.

King got the nod initially but was benched in favor of LSU transfer Max Johnson, who missed the final half of the season with injury. King got the nod again but performed poorly so Connor Weigman finished the year out.

Weigman lasted a month as the 2023 starter before his season was cut short by injury. Some combination of Johnson, Jaylen Henderson, and Marcel Reed finished out the season.
