Tucker’s Arkansas Record Prediction

RECORD PREDICTION: 3-9

All three of Arkansas’ games below the power conference ranks are wins.

Aside from those, I can’t pick out a win on the schedule.

Assuming Oklahoma State doesn’t suspend Ollie Gordon, the Pokes should run all over the Razorbacks in Stillwater.

The Hogs have been terrible against Auburn in the last decade. They’ve only won twice in that frame, and most of the losses are blowouts. After a 48-10 dismantling in Fayetteville, it’s hard to imagine the Hogs getting a win on the plains this year.

The Southwest Classic will probably be a close affair in Jerry World. Despite its history of close games, it’s the Aggies that have won 11 of the last 12. I expect that to continue as Texas A&M will have optimism around a new coach.

The Hogs have had Tennessee’s number in Fayetteville in recent meetings. However, this Vols team is in a much better position as the last two to venture to Razorback Stadium. My pick is Tennessee but the Arkansas could cover the spread.

LSU is another one I expect to be close. The Tigers have the better team more often than not, but most of the wins over the Razorbacks are tight. This one shouldn’t be any different.

Similar to Texas A&M, Mississippi State should be improved under a new head coach by late October. It could be a tight finish, but the Bulldogs’ offense should be the deciding factor.

Ole Miss has only won twice in Fayetteville the last 15 seasons. But among the Arkansas teams with losing records in that time, only one has beaten the Rebels. The Hogs always give Ole Miss their best game, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see a one-score loss.

Texas coming to town could arouse Razorback fans its the team in the SEC they hate the most. The thought alone could make that a tough matchup, but the Horns have what it takes to get the win.

The Hogs only have two Battle Line Trophy wins, and neither was in Columbia. Missouri should win at the very least, and a blowout shouldn’t be ruled out.

A 3-9 season would absolutely end Sam Pittman’s career at Arkansas.
