One of my favorite days of the year is when the Masters Club Dinner menu is announced.
“One of my favorite days of the year” may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I do always enjoy reading it and imagining myself there at the Masters Dinner.
This year’s dinner will be served on April 8th in honor of last year’s champion, Scottie Scheffler.
If you’re unfamiliar with the custom, the previous year’s Masters winner always picks the menu for the dinner the next year.
It’s kind of like a death row last meal but with better vibes generally.
Anyway, this year’s feast is MEAT HEAVY.
If you like your meats, you’re in luck. Even though you’re not invited to the dinner and never will be.
We’ve got cheeseburgers, shrimp, meatballs, chili, steaks, and fish.
Wow. PETA won’t like this.
So imagine you’re there. Somebody couldn’t make it and there’s an open table and they’ve decided to invite us.
Appetizers come out and BOOM we’ve got cheeseburger sliders served Scottie-style, firecracker shrimp with sweet thai chili & sriracha mayo, and just when you think it can’t get any better, here come Papa Scheff’s meatball and ravioli bites with pecorino cheese and tomato basil sauce.
The appetizers sound like a meal in themselves but we’re just getting warmed up.
And speaking of warming up, next up we’ve got Texas-style chili with cheddar cheese, jalapenos, and corn chips.
Corn chips. Also known as Frito’s.
Now our “first course” is complete, but again, I think even I would be stuffed by now if I had eaten all of this.
I would also probably already have spilled shit all over my green jacket.
But finally it’s main course time. A choice of wood-fired cowboy ribeye or blackened redfish.
I’m sure the blackened redfish is good, too, but let’s be honest. Any real American man is going with the ribeye here.
The main course is served with family style macaroni and cheese, jalapeno creamed corn, chipotle-lime roasted sweet potatoes, and soy glazed brussels sprouts.
Some nice light options there.
And if you haven’t thrown up yet, dessert will be a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream.
This sounds like pure Heaven.
