Tennessee athletic director Danny White is, like many others associated with Vol Sports these days, an award finalist.

White is up for Athletic Director of the Year by Sports Business Journal.

He’s one of just five finalists for the award, according to a UT press release.

This year marks the second in the last three that White has been a finalist for this award from Sports Business Journal.

White has done an exceptional job in returning Tennessee to national prominence.

Tennessee Athletics finished its best year as one of only two Power Five schools to send all its teams to the postseason, the first occurrence in UT history, the release stated.

Last year, Tennessee was the only school in America to appear in the College Football Playoff, Elite 8, and College World Series.

Tennessee also won its third consecutive SEC All-Sports Trophy — a trophy that UT had never won before White’s arrival on campus.

The award winner for Athletic Director of the Year will be announced on May 21st in New York City.
