USA Today released its preseason All-American teams Monday and two Tennessee players made the cut.

Vols edge rusher James Pearce made USA Today’s first team. Pearce exploded onto the scene in 2023, recording 10 sacks and 16 quarterback pressures his sophomore season.

Center Cooper Mays was the other Vol to find his way on the team. Mays made the second team thanks to his consistent strong performances in the trenches. Parker Brailsford of Alabama was the first team center.

As a whole, the SEC had 18 players make USA Today’s preseason All-American team. Ohio State was the school that had the most players make the team.
