The first of the four designations in the 2024 home slate is the Checker Neyland game against Florida on October 12.
This will be Checker Neyland’s eighth appearance, and four of those eight are for the Florida game. So basically, every time a Tennessee team coached by Butch Jones or Josh Heupel has hosted Florida, it has checkered Neyland.
The second designation is Champions Weekend and UTAD Hall of Fame Weekend for the Kentucky game.
Champions Weekend is honoring the anniversaries of certain SEC and/or NCAA titles, and Sheila Frost, Jimmy Haslam, and John Henderson are among the inductees to the UTAD Hall of Fame.
Mississippi State is the official homecoming game for the 2024 season, and UTEP is the Salute to Service game following Veterans Day.
Chattanooga, Kent State, and Alabama don’t have any designations.
However, there are some rumblings that the new line of smokey grays could release on opening weekend and that the 2024 national champion baseball team could be honored during the Alabama game.
