Oklahoma State to debut NIL QR Codes on Helmets
By Tucker Harlin
Oklahoma State put forth a new take on NIL when it announced the release of QR codes on its football helmets this fall.
These codes will link to Pokes With A Purpose, Oklahoma State’s NIL collective, allowing fans to donate money both from their couches and in the stadium.
The future is here!

The Pokes will be the first college football team to put QR codes on their helmets, and they will be the first to feature QR codes on their uniforms in a regular season game.
UCF put QR codes on its jerseys during the 2023 spring football season. The purpose was to help boost NIL by introducing fans to players’ social media profiles and personal merchandise brands.
Colorado also experimented with social media in spring football by placing player addresses where their last name would normally be. Unlike Oklahoma State and UCF, the Buffaloes did not use QR codes.
