Marshall Coach Uses New Strategy to Lure Power Five Players

It’s no secret the power conferences are slowly but surely separating from the group of five in college football.

If a group of five player has a breakout season, he’s immediately looking for the highest possible offer from a power conference program.

Group of five coaches are desperate to keep their personnel from transferring to power conference schools, so they have to find creative avenues to convince their players to stay. Marshall head coach Charles Huff embraced this approach not only to his players but to the Thundering Herd’s opponent, Ohio State, in a press conference Tuesday evening.

Huff demonstrated he knows his way to the hearts of football players. And their stomachs.

“I’d love to have some of those guys from Ohio State too,” Huff said. “If they want to transfer down, we’ve got a Tudor’s NIL (deal), all you can eat. If any of those guys at Ohio State that can run really fast like Tudor’s biscuits, I promise you all you can eat, all day.”

For those who don’t know, Tudor’s Biscuit World is an upper Ohio Valley chain with locations primarily in West Virginia and a few in neighboring Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

Unfortunately for Huff, there are several Tudor’s in southern Ohio, but the closest location to Columbus is in Xenia, Ohio, an hour away.

But Huff could land himself an armada of hungry offensive linemen with unlimited Thundering Herd biscuits with sausage, egg, cheese, and potatoes!
