After two seasons at Tennessee, Jewel Spear declared for the WNBA Draft on Wednesday afternoon.
She announced the decision on her Instagram.
“This chapter may be closing, but the journey continues … ready to take the next step in my journey and chase my dreams at the professional level,” she posted.
Spear began her collegiate career at Wake Forest, where she started three seasons for the Demon Deacons.
She then transferred to Tennessee, where she started all 33 games for the Lady Vols in the 2023-24 season.
Spear returned for her fifth year in Knoxville, starting in 26 of Tennessee’s 34 games. The best performance of her 2024-25 campaign came on Feb. 16 when she scored 28 points in a 80-71 win over Ole Miss.
As a regular contributor for Tennessee, she averaged 12.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this past season.
Throughout five seasons, Spear totaled 2,217 points and 533 rebounds.
Before she heads off to the draft, she will travel to Tampa Bay to participate in the Women’s College All-Star game this weekend.
