Good News: AJ Russell Is Back

At nearly just the very moment Tennessee Football gave us bad news that Rickey Gibson is transferring, Vol Baseball gave us some good news.

Stud pitcher AJ Russell is BACK.

Russell is set to start for Tennessee against North Alabama TODAY.

It’s a fairly quick return for a guy who many of us thought would be out longer coming off Tommy John surgery.

The surgery took place back in the summer but because the UCL joint was not fully torn it has led to a quicker recovery time, reported Ryan Schumpert of Rocky Top Insider.

Russell is reportedly expected to pitch just one inning today.

Sounds like Tony Vitello is going to work him back in slowly, but this is tremendous news.
