Tennessee took a tough series L in Baton Rouge over the weekend.

Despite being favored to win the series, the Vols came up short after a multitude of mistakes on Friday. They lost game one 6-3.

They then followed that up with a nice 9-3 win Saturday before getting destroyed on Sunday 12-2.

Tennessee fell to 35-9 on the season and 13-8 in SEC play.

As a result, the Vols are now ranked 12th in the latest D1 Baseball Top 25 poll. In Baseball America’s version of the Top 25, Tennessee is 7th.

The Vols are still No. 6 in the USA Today poll.

Tennessee will try to rebound this week with a Tuesday night game against Northern Kentucky before hosting a talented Auburn team this weekend at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Tigers are ranked 10th in the updated D1 Baseball poll, No. 11 in USA Today, and No. 5 in Baseball America.
