Former Tennessee Baseball pitcher Ben Joyce, now in the major leagues with the Los Angeles Angels, has one of the strongest arms of all time.
Joyce recently appeared on a podcast, “The Chris Rose Rotation,” and the host asked him about just how fast he thinks he could throw the ball.
“Last year you threw 105.5 miles per hour against Tommy Edman. Do you think you could hit 107,” Rose asked.
“I do. I really do,” Joyce replied. “It’s weird to say, but I don’t see why not.”
Rose then raised the stakes to see what Joyce thought about pitching 110 miles per hour.
“I don’t know about that. We’ll start at 107 and work from there,” Joyce said.
Rose compared Joyce’s legendary pitching to a “traveling circus.”
“That’s what everybody wants to see … Does it put pressure on you to entertain us all?” Rose asked.
“Not really,” Joyce said. “I just go out there and do my thing. When I’m out on the mound I’m just kind of blocking everything else out.”
