It’s traveling time for the teams competing in the NCAA Tournament this week.
So here’s a couple of updates on how it’s going.
North Carolina, which probably shouldn’t even be in the field, had some plane issues yesterday afternoon.
The Tar Heels arrived for their game tonight vs. San Diego State more than two hours late after their charter flight headed to Dayton, Ohio did not pick them up on time.
UNC was reportedly scheduled to land around 4 p.m. yesterday but instead arrived around 6:30.
Because of this they missed a scheduled practice time.
Perhaps the pilot was a West Virginia fan.
In other news, Kentucky’s Mark Pope is apparently promising gas money to UK fans wanting to go to Milwaukee.
“It’s only a 7-hour drive, so if you’re having trouble with gas money, hit me up. Let’s get all of BBN out there,” Pope said on his radio show. “I’m not gonna tell you how to hit me up, because I’m nervous about how many people are about to hit me up.
“I had this ridiculous notion one night after a game to buy everybody that was left in the arena ice cream. It cost me a little bit more than I anticipated, but it’s all in the family, baby. It’s family. Let’s go.”
How about that. Good news for the less fortunate ‘Cats fans.
Just gotta figure out how to contact him.
