We knew last week that Tennessee was finalizing an extension for Tim Banks.

The details were made official today. It’s a three-year deal that will pay Banks $2.15 million annually to serve as the Vols’ defensive coordinator.

The news comes as Tennessee’s 2024 scoring defense goes down as the best at UT in 26 years, according to Associate AD Bill Martin.

Tennessee’s 24 offensive touchdowns allowed ranked fourth-fewest in the nation for a defense.

Not too shabby.

Tennessee’s defense held opponents to under 20 points in 11 of 13 games.

Banks previously made $1.5 million in 2024 in the final year of an original four-year deal signed in 2022, according to VolQuest.
