Ichiro Suzuki earlier this week was announced into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Seattle Mariners legend, in his first year of eligibility, received 393 of 394 ballots needed to be inducted unanimously.
One short.
Just like Derek Jeter back in 2020, who said at the time he “could care less.” It seems like Suzuki cares a little more.
"There's one writer that I wasn't able to get a vote from," Suzuki said through an interpreter yesterday. "I would like to invite him over to my house, and we'll have a drink together, and we'll have a good chat."
Suzuki will be inducted July 27th. He will be the first Asian player inducted.
"I was able to receive many votes from the writers, and grateful for them.”
Ichiro is a better man than me, because I would never let that anonymous loser into my house for a drink.
