The Free Berto movement has hit the House Floor in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett used his time to raise awareness on the battle Alberto Osuna and Tennessee are currently fighting against the NCAA.

“Despite following all the necessary steps to secure eligibility and play for the University of Tennessee, the NCAA in their infinite wisdom has blocked his opportunity. Students at UT have painted the Rock, to my left here, to show their support for Berto in hopes that he might play his final season with the Vols at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. He wants to do something for his family. This is what this is all about. I don’t have time to explain it all but this situation isn’t just about Berto.”

The call to arms was laid out by Tennessee coach Tony Vitello last weekend. It has seemingly been answered by a host of former players, media members, and now… Congress.

It seems like the NCAA is trying to bully baseball players after folding to the more powerful sport, college football. We’ll see how long they try to keep their heels dug in on this now that more and more attention is being brought to it.
