Zakai Zeigler is an Associated Press All-American as of this afternoon.

Zeigler made the AP’s Third Team, while teammate Chaz Lanier earned AP All-America Honorable Mention recognition.

Per a release from UTSports.com:

The AP is one of four voting bodies—the others are The Sporting News, the NABC and the USBWA—whose All-America teams are formally recognized by the NCAA that also, in aggregate, determine the consensus All-Americans. It is the second of that quartet to release its selections.

Both Zeigler and Lanier were named Sporting News Third Team All-Americans previously.

Zeigler averages 13.8 points per game in addition to 7.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 steals.

Lanier is UT’s leading scorer with 17.7 points per game.

With the All-American status the duo has earned, they become the 28th and 29th official All-Americans in Tennessee history, according to the release.
