Kickoff times for the September 21 SEC football games were announced Monday.

Tennessee is officially playing in Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC that Saturday.

There’s a healthy number of SEC matchups scattered throughout the day on the ESPN networks.

Florida plays at Mississippi State to start the day on ESPN. The late afternoon slate is loaded with Arkansas at Auburn, UCLA at LSU, and Vanderbilt at Missouri kicking off between 3:30 and 4:15.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if we get an announcement in the coming days that College Game Day is headed to Norman.

It’s the first time Josh Heupel will return to his alma mater in 10 years. Heupel was of course a national championship winning quarterback for the Sooners, but he left Norman on bad terms.

Heupel was named co-offensive coordinator with Jay Norvell by Bob Stoops ahead of the 2011 season after spending a few years as the quarterbacks coach. His contract went unrenewed at the end of 2014 following an 8-5 season and a 40-6 blowout loss to Clemson.

Speaking of 2014, Tennessee took its only previous trip to Norman that season. The Sooners dominated in their 34-10 victory over the Vols.

The Sooners are ranked and unbeaten in 2024, but their win over Houston wasn’t very encouraging. Tennessee should carry a much tougher fight to Norman a decade ago.
