Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel announced running back Cam Seldon had returned to full contact in practice Monday.

In a relatively headline-free spring football season, Seldon’s shoulder injury was one of the few newsworthy events.

Heupel had said Seldon was undergoing a procedure that would keep him off the field until close to or just after the beginning of the season.

Sure enough, Seldon and freshman Peyton Lewis are now “full go” and returned to action after dealing with lingering injuries over the last four months.

All of sudden, depth at the running back position isn’t as big of an issue for Tennessee.

The initial concern was the strength of the position dropping from starter Dylan Sampson to the likes of Khalifa Keith and DeSean Bishop.

Bishop in particular looked good while Lewis and Seldon were dealing with injuries, but their return will reduce Bishop’s playing time in 2024.
