Few NFL rivalries can claim to be more bitter than that of the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders have long held a reputation as one of the most notorious villain franchises in the NFL. From their rabid fans to characters such as John Madden and Lyle Alzado, the Raiders are despised by their AFC West counterparts.

But lately, the Raiders haven’t been stellar against the Chiefs.

Since Patrick Mahomes became the starter in Kansas City in 2017, the Chiefs are 11-3 against the Raiders.

By that metric, you could say the rivalry could use an injection of life.

So that’s what Antonio Pierce and the Raiders are trying to do this offseason.

Earlier on the offseason, Pierce went on record to say the Raiders defense would use “Mahomes Rules” next season when playing the Chiefs. This of course is the Raiders’ spin on the “Jordan Rules” the Detroit Pistons used against the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.

But the Raiders didn’t stop there.

Videos surfaced from Raiders training camp Wednesday of safety Trey Taylor holding a Kermit the Frog puppet with a curly brown wig and a miniature Patrick Mahomes jersey.

Taylor and teammates can be heard saying “I’m here” in a Kermit impersonation.

The Raiders and Chiefs will have to wait till nearly halfway through the season to meet one another in Las Vegas. With the Raiders’ shenanigans in the offseason, it should be yet another entertaining clash between division rivals.
