There seems to be a lot happening between Tennessee and UCLA recently.

The men’s basketball team knocked UCLA out of the NCAA Tournament.

Nico Iamaleava transferred from UT to play football at UCLA.

There’s talk about Vol Football also being interested in UCLA’s quarterback.

And now — the Lady Vols have picked off one of the Bruins’ players.

Six-foot-four senior Janiah Barker committed to Tennessee on Monday after spending two seasons at Texas A&M and one with UCLA.

She averaged 7.4 points and six rebounds per game, mostly coming off the bench. Additionally, she put up 52 assists, 22 steals, and 19 blocks on the year.

Tennessee needed a big and they got one who was formerly ranked as the No. 3 recruit in the country by ESPN.

The talent is there. We’ll see if coach Kim Caldwell can maximize it.
