#7 Tennessee (6-1, 3-1) is set to host Kentucky (3-5, 1-5) in Neyland Stadium Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET.

What’s not set is Kentucky’s plan at quarterback.

Wildcats offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan said the coaching staff plans to “evaluate everything” in practice over the course of the week to determine who gets the start.

The Wildcats have used both Georgia transfer Brock Vandagriff and Rutgers transfer Gavin Wimsatt. Vandagriff has been Kentucky’s best option throwing the ball deep this season while Wimsatt’s primary usage is in wildcat formations.

Vandagriff hit a couple of deep passes to receiver Dane Key in the first half of the loss to Auburn last weekend, but those weren’t enough to keep him in during the second half.

Wimsatt played all three of Kentucky’s second half possessions. The longest of Wimsatt’s three possessions went for 20 yards, and only two of the three went for positive yardage.

In total, Vandagriff and Wimsatt went 12/27 for 154 yards and two interceptions

This isn’t a situation like Florida had with Graham Mertz and D.J. Lagway where there’s a belief both are crucial to the success of the program; neither Vandagriff nor Wimsatt is producing at an optimal level.
