Fanrun Fantasy Scoreboard: Week 8
By Tucker Harlin
Week 8 was a week with high scores all over the league. Seven teams scored 120 or more points and only one scored under 100.
There are no 0-8 teams in the Fanrun Fantasy Football Fight as a certain team pulled off the upset of the century of the year to try and further themselves from the punishment.
Here’s a look back at an eventful Week 8.
TUCKER HARLIN 107.22 vs RYAN BROWN 139.84
Why must I always melt down against winless teams? I had my worst week of the season while Ryan had far and away his best week of the year.
Quarterback and tight end were my only two advantages this weekend. Josh Allen very slightly outproduced Aaron Rodgers and Kyle Pitts went for 25.1 while Brock Bowers had an average outing of 10.8.
My running backs were shockingly bad as the beast of King Henry scored under 15 and my first round pick scored under 10 points. De’Von Achane looked more like himself for Ryan while Jaleel McLaughlin scored a supplementary 12.6.
My worst loss (in more than one way) was at receiver. VFL Cedric Tillman had his fantasy game of the century for Ryan while I was stuck with a combined 20 from Stefon Diggs and Jayden Reed. Diggs is now feared to have torn an ACL.
Courtland Sutton scored 17 at flex for Ryan while I was stuck at 11.5 with Aaron Jones, my defense didn’t score, and Brandon Aubrey scored a season-low of 6.
Matthew Stafford was my only bench player to outperform while Ryan had nice bench performances from both Xavier Legette and Josh Downs.
CODY MCCLURE 145.46 vs MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES 150.08
The contest between Cody and MIssues yielded just shy of 300 total points.
The Varsity Athletes were dominant at quarterback, scoring 35.14 with Jalen Hurts to the 8 Geno Smith scored on the other side.
Running backs were steady on both ends, but Bijan Robinson and J.K. Dobbins out produced both Rachaad White and David Montgomery for MIssues.
Issues also got a win at receiver as both Chris Olave and Keon Coleman hovered around 18 points each while Tyreek Hill and Malik Nabers scored 13 and 14 on the other end.
Issues tripled Cody at tight end and doubled him at kicker thanks to the play of George Kittle and Ka’imi Fairbairn.
Calvin Ridley was Cody’s only bench player to outproduce a starter, despite the big day from Kirk Cousins. C.J. Stroud was MIssues only bench player that put up a better number than a starter this week.
JON REED 135.28 vs WILLIAM PATTESON 152.52
Lots of points were scored in a battle of two-win teams between Jon and Overtime Bill.
Quarterback scores were pretty even with William getting a 23.32-22.18 win thanks to a strong performance from Trevor Lawrence. The running back battle was competitive too, but the 23.5 from Rhamondre Stevenson won the day for Bill.
Jon had even production from Cooper Kupp and Garrett Wilson, but the 39.6 CeeDee Lamb scored for William was better than both Kupp and Wilson combined.
William’s other win was a dominant 20.2-3.8 edge at flex from Darnell Mooney.
Jon won big in more than one way on National Tight Ends Day with the 29.1 Cade Otton scored him along with his mega parlay.

Jon’s wins at kicker and defense weren’t big with the Chiefs defense and Jake Bates, winning 9-8 and 12-10.
Jayden Daniels was Jon’s only bench player to outscore a starter and only by .06. David Njoku had a bit of a better day for Bill than Evan Engram, although Braelon Allen and Alex Mattison both did a little more than Kenneth Walker.
RUSSELL SMITH 150.96 vs HOUSTON KRESS 113.8
The Battle of the Drive ended up not being much of a battle.
Both teams had good performances from their quarterbacks, but Russell had a slight edge thanks to the 29.76 Bo Nix scored. Dubsy also took a close victory at receiver with both Puka Nacua and Zay Flowers scoring in the neighborhood of 18 apiece.
Tight end, flex, defense, and kicker were not so close. Trey McBride and James Cook both scored over 20 for the Keg of Glory, Austin Seibert scored 12 points, and the Texans scored 9 on defense to Houston’s donut from the Vikings.
Houston’s only win was at running back. Joe Mixon alone outscored the combined production of Saquon Barkley and Jordan Mason by 10.
The Lions defense on Russell’s bench and the Eagles defense and Isaiah Likely on Houston’s bench were the strong bench performances this weekend.
BOB BASKERVILLE 99.56 vs SAM BEARD 101.24
The Battle of Under Review was far more competitive than the Battle of the Drive.
Sam’s 15-9.2 victory at flex was the largest of this matchup. Sam also won 9-4 at kicker and 24.9-23.6 thanks to a good enough performance from Justin Jefferson.
Bob won at quarterback, running back, tight end, and defense. His largest margin of victory was by 3.7 at tight end
Both benches had incredible weeks.
Marvin Harrison Jr, Sam LaPorta, Baker Mayfield, and Khalil Shakir all popped off for Bob while Terry McLaurin, Justin Herbert, and Sam Darnold all did well for Sam.
TIM HILL 112.98 vs JACE BROWN 146.06
Jace has improved to 5-3 with a strong win over Tim.
Jace’s closest win was at running back thanks to performances with Jahmyr Gibbs and D’Andre Swift that hovered around 20 points each. Lamar Jackson and the Bills defense both gave Jace 6-point wins at quarterback and defense.
The double digit wins for Jace came at receiver and tight end. Travis Kelce scored 25 at tight end while Ja’Marr Chase alone outscored both Deebo Samuel and Amari Cooper.
Peaches dominated at flex with 18.7 from Jonathan Taylor while Tyler Lockett scored just 1.9.
Raheem Mostert and Jakobi Meyers were Jace’s two most productive bench players while both Tank Dell and Xavier Worthy hovered around 13.5 on The Thrill’s bench.
