Is Doug Gottlieb The Worst Basketball Coach Of All Time?

Radio host and “basketball coach” Doug Gottlieb is having a terrible season.
Like historically terrible. The Green Bay men’s basketball team is 3-24 on the season.
Absolutely putrid. Although they did manage to get a win yesterday, surprisingly. It was their first in conference play in which they are 1-15.
Yesterday’s win was a big step for the Phoenix who had not won a game in 89 days.
Gottlieb was shockingly hired as the Green Bay coach last May.
I mean it has to be up there in terms of the worst basketball hires ever. Imagine Tennessee taking a chance on one of the guys here at the station.
Coach Russell Smith. What a disaster.
The funny thing is, even if Green Bay wants to fire Gottlieb, his deal is quite complicated.
If the school terminates him without cause within the first two years of his five-year deal they would reportedly owe him twice the remaining base salary.
Which as it is now is roughly $2.3 million, “a figure that exceeds the revenue the basketball team generated last season.”
Hilarious.
I guess that’s what you get for hiring a loser.
