Injury Reports Coming to the SEC
By Tucker Harlin
The SEC took another step toward professionalizing the college game Thursday by instituting mandatory injury reports ahead of each game.
Football, basketball, and baseball will all be required to disclose injuries on Wednesdays over the course of the season.

While some of the measures taken in college football like the two-minute warning could be controversial among fans, I think this is a measure the majority of fans can get behind.
College coaches don’t like to reveal information, and injuries sometimes figure into the information they want to withhold.
Not only can a surprise injury on Saturday kill a fan’s confidence, but it can also ruin a gambler’s day. If I placed a certain bet without knowing a player is injured for that game ahead of time, I’d feel ripped off.
Obviously, no coach or player should care one bit about how much money somebody loses off of their team losing.
But sports gambling is an industry that is growing across the country.
It’s not legal everywhere yet, but a day is coming in which you can legally gamble on sports in every state.
