Florida Announces Craft Beer Partnership
By Tucker Harlin
The legalization of alcohol sales in college football stadiums has created a new trend: craft beer sponsorships for athletics departments.
Florida is the latest school to partake in the trend, announcing a partnership with Shock Top as the “Official Craft Beer Partner of the Florida Gators.”

The trend first caught traction at West Virginia last season when it announced a partnership between its NIL trust and Big Timber Brewing Company. Penn State and Pittsburgh also released custom beers in 2023.
Florida is the third SEC school to announce a beer partnership in the last month, following Tennessee and Arkansas.
Unlike most of the partnerships between schools and breweries, Shock Top is only featuring custom Florida cans for its normal beer selection.
NIL is also not at the forefront of the partnership like it is with Arkansas and Tusk Beer.
