Fanrun Fantasy Power Rankings: Week 12
By Tucker Harlin
The committee has spoken.
Among other things, Week 11 of the Fanrun Fantasy Football Fight saw a change at the top due to a head to head victory and the creation of a logjam of 3-8 teams.
1. MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES (8-3)
In a battle for first place, More Important Issues was victorious over Sam. Tee Higgins is back to doing Tee Higgins things, and Taysom Hill was the waiver wire acquisition of the century last week.
Issues isn’t exactly guaranteed to stay in first place for a while with Jace on the horizon. Bijan Robinson and the aforementioned Higgins and Hill are on bye.
2. SAM BEARD (8-3)
As I mentioned before, Sam took a rough loss to More Important Issues last week. Sam hasn’t scored over 100 points since his loss to Jon in Week 9.
Sam plays against Ryan this week. It’s a rather large bye week for Sam with both Bills tight ends, Alvin Kamara, and Brian Thomas Jr all getting Week 12 off.
3. TUCKER HARLIN (7-4)
Total points is the reason I’ve still got myself above Russell and Jace because I’ve split between those two when going head to head. My team is in a tailspin right now.
I’m playing Houston this week. I think I’m cooked with Breece Hall, Josh Allen, and Kyle Pitts on bye
4. JACE BROWN (7-4)
Jace took a tough loss to Houston in Week 11. His performance was one of those weeks where you probably beat the other 80% of the league seeing how his running backs, receivers, and Chris Boswell all fared.
Jace plays Issues this week. He’s only got one absence of note, but it’s a big one with Ja’Marr Chase on bye.
5. RUSSELL SMITH (7-4)
Russell continued his upward trajectory with a 30-piece of Bob in Week 11. The running backs are running wild while Puka Nacua and the Texans defense all strung together nice performances for Dubsy.
Dubsy plays Jon in Week 12. James Cook and Tyler Bass are the only players on bye.
6. HOUSTON KRESS (6-5)
Houston’s Week 11 performance against Jace was the best of anyone in the league. Joe Mixon ran wild on Monday night while Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jonnu Smith, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba all surpassed the 20-mark.
The Vol Rumor Mill and Young Phillip Fulmer battle in Week 12. The players on bye aren’t relevant ones, but you should keep an eye on Brock Purdy’s injury.
7. CODY MCCLURE (6-5)
The Varsity Athletes slipped by with a victory over Young Phillip Fulmer in Week 11. David Montgomery was terrific at running back while both Ladd McConkey and Tyreek Hill strung together nice performances at receiver.
Cody faces Bob in Week 12. Bye weeks for Tyler Allgeier, Kirk Cousins, and Travis Etienne shouldn’t hurt Cody’s shot against Bob.
8. JON REED (5-6)
Jon is the lone 5-6 team in the league, winning ugly against Tim in Week 11. Cooper Kupp and Chase Brown were the only performances that were booms for the Juggalos, but they were good enough to get the job done.
Jon plays Russell this week. Brown and Garrett Wilson are the only noteworthy pieces on bye.
9. WILLIAM PATTESON (3-8)
All of the 3-8 teams have beaten up on one another, but William sits at #9 due to the tiebreaker of total points. That said, Week 11 was less than stellar with Tua Tagovailoa being the only player to break 20.
Overtime Bill plays Tim for the second time this season in Week 12. Both the Falcons and Jaguars are on bye this week, so naturally half of Williams team is out this week.
10. BOB BASKERVILLE (3-8)
Bob unfortunately let Russell walk into his house, make a sandwich, and throw the cheese wrapper on the floor in Week 11. Joe Burrow and Josh Jacobs balled out last week, but he didn’t get enough help in other places.
Bob plays the Varsity Athletes in Week 12. Byes aren’t a huge concern this week, but Burrow and Khalil Shakir will both have the week off.
11. TIM HILL (3-8)
Tim’s team didn’t play well in a Week 11 loss to Jon. Zach Ertz and Patrick Mahomes were his only two starters to break double figures, and neither scored over 20.
Peaches awaits a rematch with Overtime Bill in Week 12. Byes are of some concern this week with Amari Cooper, the Jets defense, and Younghoe Koo all getting time off.
12. RYAN BROWN (3-8)
Despite a big win against Overtime Bill, Ryan still sits 13 points behind Tim in the standings for total points. The performances from De’Von Achane and Brock Bowers were stellar, and soon Christian McCaffrey will return to form.
Ryan goes at it with Sam in Week 12, who does seem to have some significant byes this week. Davante Adams and Mike Gesicki are Ryan’s only players on bye, so a fourth win is on the table.
