Fanrun Fantasy Football Fight Power Rankings: Week 8

By Tucker Harlin

The committee has spoken.

The Fanrun Fantasy Football Fight power rankings are here ahead of Week 8. There are no longer any unbeaten teams, but a winless team remains.

1. TUCKER HARLIN (6-1)

My team is 6-1, beat the #1 team in the league last week by 25, and has 117 more points for than the next team.

Thankfully my team has some depth to it because my receiving core has taken a hit with Chris Godwin’s dislocated ankle. Jayden Reed and Michael Pittman Jr. will need to increase their productivity.

I go at it with Ryan this week. I’m not underestimating another winless team after what happened to me against Jon.

2. SAM BEARD (6-1)

Sam took a loss to Young Phillip Fulmer last week, ending the six week streak of an unbeaten team in the league.

His running backs had a pretty bad Week 7, but what’s worse is the aggravated hamstring injury to Mike Evans. Sam at least has options between Terry McLaurin, Nick Chubb, and Brian Thomas Jr. at flex.

Sam squares off with Bob in the Battle of Under Review this weekend. Bob’s team is reeling, so Sam should have an opportunity to find his way into the win column.

3. MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES (5-2)

MIssues’ Week 7 output was lackluster, but it was more than enough to take down Jon.

The best news for Issues right now is the fact Bijan Robinson, Tee Higgins, and George Kittle are all living up to their potential. This week’s more important issue is how MIssues will function without Nico Collins, Chris Olave, and potentially Jauan Jennings at receiver.

Issues faces Cody this week in an important battle near the top of the league standings.

4. CODY MCCLURE (5-2)

The Varsity Athletes saved their best for the Keg of Glory last week.

Rachaad White, Hunter Henry, and the Broncos defense had themselves a week. Better days lie ahead for both Malik Nabers and Tyreek Hill, particularly Hill with the imminent return of Tua.

Cody has a tough battle with More Important Issues for a chance to move closer to the top of the standings.

5. JACE BROWN (4-3)

Jace’s team had a terrific week in its win over Ryan in Week 7.

The trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Lamar Jackson, and Jahmyr Gibbs is proving a productive one. If George Pickens and Travis Kelce increase their production, watch out.

Jace plays Tim this week, a matchup he can definitely pull out a win in.

6. RUSSELL SMITH (4-3)

Russell took his second straight blowout loss to a team near the top of the standings in Week 7.

Injury concerns are beginning to mount for the Keg of Glory. D.K. Metcalf, Zay Flowers, and Puka Nacua are all nursing some sort of injury right now. At least the running backs are healthy.

The Battle of The Drive will commence between Houston and Russell in Week 8.

7. HOUSTON KRESS (3-4)

Houston took home an important win over Tim in Week 7.

Despite the fact Isiah Pacheco is out, the running backs are currently the most productive part of the Vol Rumor Mill’s team. Outside of Amon-Ra St. Brown, his receivers are struggling right now.

Like I said, the Battle of The Drive will commence in Week 8.

8. TIM HILL (3-4)

ESPN lists Tim ahead of Houston in the power rankings, but I value recent head to head victories more.

In addition to Jonathan Taylor, Tim now has to worry about the health of Deebo Samuel moving forward. Tank Dell was a major letdown last week, and the Jets defense no longer seems like a feasible option.

Tim plays Jace this week, a game he needs to win to stay afloat in the playoff race.

9. WILLIAM PATTESON (2-5)

Overtime Bill had the survival of survivals in Week 7 against Bob.

All of the Jags players, Kenneth Walker, Jordan Addison, and Alex Mattison are beginning to show signs of life. David Njoku is beginning to produce more with Amari Cooper in Buffalo now, giving William options at tight end.

Bill plays Jon this week in a matchup to see who can get inside each other’s head more in Week 8.

10. BOB BASKERVILLE (2-5)

As I just mentioned, Bob fell short in a close battle with William last week.

Injuries have been a problem for Bob all season, but it seems like most of his better pieces are on the mend. A.J. Brown, T.J. Hockenson, and Marvin Harrison Jr. have all returned to play.

The Battle of Under Review will commence between Bob and Sam this weekend. It’s an uphill climb for Bob against what has been one of the best teams in the league over seven weeks.

11. JON REED (2-5)

Jon took a kick in the groin with a loss to More Important Issues last week.

Not only did Jon just scrape 80 points, but he also lost Brandon Aiyuk for the season. Jon gets Cooper Kupp back this week, but a loss at receiver on a team built around receivers is hurtful.

Jon and Overtime Bill this week in a game that should have zero trash talk around it whatsoever.

12. RYAN BROWN (0-7)

Hard times have fallen upon Ryan in the first seven weeks.

Christian McCaffrey is still two weeks away from taking the field, and Davante Adams’ first week as a Jet was an underwhelming one. On a positive note, Tua returning should help De’Von Achane’s production and DeAndre Hopkins joining the Chiefs should also help his production.

Ryan faces Young Phillip Fulmer this week, hoping to pull off the upset of the century.
