A Tennessee Baseball Player Is Suing The NCAA

By Cody McClure

Alberto Osuna Sanchez is filing a suit against the NCAA over eligibility.

Osuna has been a highly-anticipated hopeful for the Vols’ baseball hopes this season.

He’s on the roster now and living in Knoxville after having transferred from the JUCO ranks and North Carolina.

His suit filed reportedly claims that his JUCO years should not be counted against his eligibility.

He has a pending waiver with the NCAA to play an additional season, according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports.

Osuna played baseball for two years at the JUCO level before enrolling at North Carolina, where he played three years.

He’s seeking a fourth year with the Vols.

These days the NCAA doesn’t seem to have any legal leg to stand out, so the expectation here should be that Osuna wins.
