Tennessee hit the practice field on Friday afternoon for the third time of Fall Camp 2020.
The Vols continue to work towards a Saturday night practice under the lights in Neyland Stadium, as this team continues to bring the energy, taking things one day at a time.
The players were allowed to don the shells on Friday, and as Coach Pruitt said, “Get a little Thud in,” so it’s evident as to why this coaching staff was loving the attitude. Some good news for the staff was having TE Austin Pope on the field, as he continues to progress back from surgery.
Jeremy Pruitt spoke very highly of freshman wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, “He is a guy that is very polished.”
Pruitt added, “He’s been out there every day. He continues to improve and if he continues to improve like he has the last five weeks, he should be ready to play for the opener.”
Jarett Guarantano continues to take 1st team reps, as Maurer and Shrout are splitting work with the 2’s. JT Shrout has been impressive so far in camp, according to a few folks we’ve spoken with. As was hinted at earlier in the week, QB Harrison Bailey hasn’t been on the practice field this week. Jeremy Pruitt confirmed that he was in quarantine, along with a few others recently.
