It’s been a monumental day for the Bluegrass state. The Kentucky Wildcats football team received their bowl rings from this year’s TaxSlayer Bowl.

The thing is…they lost 33-18 to Georgia Tech, and it’s quite humorous considering the Yellow Jackets didn’t even receive rings for winning it.
The rings actually commemorate two games. The Wildcats defeated Heisman winner Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals in dramatic fashion in the final game of the season to claim the annual Governor’s Cup. That’s fine, I guess, but the other side of the ring celebrates the TaxSlayer bowl appearance even though they lost. For UK, it was their first bowl appearance since 2010 so they apparently felt the need to celebrate just for making a postseason bowl.
There was somewhat of an uproar two years ago when Tennessee received their TaxSlayer “championship” rings, but at least they won it.
As expected, Twitter ate it up.

These will go well with your fake 1950 football national championship trophy.
