Top JUCO TE Signs with Vols over Alabama, Saban

Top junior college tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson announced he was signing with Tennessee after Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee staff quickly took to recruiting the Arizona Western College prospect.

Wood-Anderson was long thought an Alabama recruit, but the Vols made a big impression on him, especially following a December 15 visit to Knoxville.

This is a big win for Jeremy Pruitt, but maybe even bigger for “Vol Twitter.” Back on December 8, after he initially received his offer from the Vols, he tweeted that he’d sign with Tennessee if Vol fans got him to 20,000 followers. Well, it happened, and Wood-Anderson signed with the Vols… coincidence?

Wood-Anderson does something you won’t see many tight ends do: line up out wide. He even runs a post route… for a touchdown! His route-running is polished, his hands are suction cups and he has decent speed.

There isn’t a lot of blocking on his film, but what’s there is positive. He keeps his feet moving and keeps his center of balance low. You’ll see Wood-Anderson heavily involved in Tennessee’s offensive gameplan, probably similar to how Alabama used O.J. Howard.
