Tennessee is coming off three straight losses to Georiga, Kentucky, and Alabama, and they didn’t look good in either game. In fact, the Vols haven’t looked good since the Missouri game, which feels like so long ago.
I’m not surprised that Vegas believes the Vols are the better team; Tennessee has way more talent on their roster. And, in Year 3, the Vols should be a much better team. However, what scares me is that the game is on the road.
Another thing that scares me is Tennessee still has quarterback issues.
Jarrett Guarantano is 83-of-135 for 914 yards this season. Those numbers aren’t terrible, but it’s the touchdown-to-interception ratio that isn’t great. Guarantano hast just six touchdowns to three interceptions. He also has a few fumbles that have killed drives. Can he turn it around and help the Vols win? Will Jeremy Pruitt play another quarterback?
Don’t let the Razorbacks’ 2-3 record fool you; Arkansas is playing much better in Year 1 under Sam Pittman.
They played Georiga close for a half, and you could argue they should have beaten Auburn. Last week Arkansas fell to Texas A&M 42-31 in what was a very entertaining game.
Arkansas has won two straight games in the series, and the last time Tennessee won in Fayetteville was 2001.
I thought the line could come out around Arkansas -2.5 for the home-field advantage.
The Vols and Razorbacks will play at 7:30 PM on Saturday night. Before the season, many thought this game would be an easy win for Tennessee. That isn’t the case now. The Vols will have to bring their A-game to get the win.
