Overview

The MLB season is upon us and there are a lot of good squads to take to the diamond this season. One of those teams being your Atlanta Braves. The Braves are coming off of a very good season, finishing 97-65 and winning the NL East, clinching their spot in the playoffs in 2019.

2019 Season

Last year, while the Braves clearly handled their business in the win-lose column. They also matched up favorably on other statistics. They finished the season with a club average of .258 (9th best in MLB), 249 home runs (8th), 855 runs (7th), and drawing 619 walks (3rd). Proving that they can more than carry their weight.

Also, clocking phenomenal performances from the 2019 MLB All-Star’s on their team, consisting of outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr., first basemen Freddie Freeman, and pitcher Mike Soroka.

2020 Season

You can expect big things from this Braves squad. All of their 2019 All-Stars are returning. Although we had a small scare from Freeman with his COVID-19 diagnosis, he will play. You should also expect big seasons from shortstop Dansby Swanson and second basemen Ozzie Albies.

MLB.com and Bleacher Report has the Braves No. 5 in the Power Rankings. Bleacher Report added that the Braves were “the team to beat in the NL East.”

The main thing to lookout for this season is who will take over third base in the absence of Josh Donaldson. The current front-runners to be the everyday starter at third base are Johan Camargo or Austin Riley. But, we will get a better grasp of who will be the main guy further into the season. Although it is rumored that Riley will get the first attempt with him rumored to start on Opening Day vs. the New York Mets.

The 2020 season looks to be a good and exciting year for the Braves!
