While there has been uncertainty on a football season happening this fall, that has not stopped Jeremy Pruitt and the Vols on the recruiting trail.
Tennessee continues to get big time big time commitments, this time getting one from Damarius McGhee. He is a cornerback from Pensacola, Fla. 247Sports rates McGhee as a 4-star, who is considered the 89th best player in the 2021 class.
He is also considered to be the eighth best corner in the 2021 class and 12th best recruit in the state of Florida. McGhee is a quick CB who runs a 4.56 forty-yard dash and a shuttle speed of 4.25 seconds. McGhee has the potential to become to make a massive impact on the Vols’ secondary.
Tennessee managed to beat out Alabama, Georgia, Miami and Oklahoma for McGhee’s commitment. He is the Vols’ first commitment since TE Hudson Wolfe committed to the Big Orange back in June 15. With this commitment, this puts Tennessee in a pretty great position as far as recruiting goes.
Tennessee now currently sits now with the fifth best recruiting class in the country with 24 commitments. Among those 24 commitments, the Vols have one five-star and nine four-stars. Tennessee most likely will have one or two more commitments before finishing up this recruiting season.
As a Vols fan, this is impressive that Pruitt has managed to fill up his class before the start of the season. With this recruiting class likely to finish in the top 10, the future is sure bright on Rocky Top.
