Tennessee was back on the practice field Tuesday afternoon, as they prepare for their game against Georgia on Saturday.
Earlier this week, Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt discussed how he needs to see some consistency out of the defensive line.
“We need to be more consistent up front. We need to play harder. We need to sustain for a longer period of time. I think we need to be tied in together with the linebackers and the outside linebackers.”
With another week of practice for Darel Middleton and Aubrey Solomon, Pruitt is hoping to get these guys as close to 100% as possible. The Vols are going to need them on Saturday against a talented Georgia offensive line.
When asked if they would be getting some guys back in the secondary, Pruitt was optimistic about their return.
“We should be gaining some guys back, but listen, as we all know with the testing three days a week, it’s hard to predict what’s going to happen. So, we continue to work a lot of different guys. If we would’ve played today, Bryce (Thompson) probably would’ve been able to play the entire time, so he should be ready to go.”
Even with a few players still a bit dinged up, this might be the healthiest Tennessee has been since Fall camp. Also, the players didn’t need anyone hyping them up today, they know how big this week is.
