The Tennessee football team was back on the field this afternoon, as they prepare to host the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday at 7ET on ESPN.
The Vols QB’s and WR’s were basically working on route running, while also trying to solidify the starting quarterback heading into another week against a tough defense. It was Jarrett Guarantano getting the 1st team reps during the open portion of practice.

Both Maurer and Shrout were getting in work with the 2nd group, actually getting a good amount of times with the receivers. Jim Chaney made it a point to work with Maurer a bit during the routes on air. There has been thought for the past two weeks that Tennessee would be installing some sort of package for Brian Maurer leading up to this game.

Greg Emerson & Aubrey Solomon were the 1’s, as the Tennessee DL worked on drills with coach Tracy Rocker. Matthew Butler & Kurot Garland were working the 2’s during the open portion of the practice. The Vols will need all the help they can get on Saturday against that Georgia OL and running attack.

The LB’s, who are already thin, seemed to have a focus today during their drills, with a lot of encouragement from teammates. JJ Peterson & Jeremy Banks ran with the 2’s today, as Daniel Bituli and Henry To’oto’o were holding down the 1’s. Aaron Beasley was seeing reps as well, the coaching staff is hoping he can pick things up quickly.
