Tennessee picked up their fourth straight win with a dominant performance at Auburn.
The Tennessee basketball Vols are playing their way off of the bubble and firmly into the NCAA tournament field. Tuesday night in front of a crowd that is slowly choking the life out of Bruce Pearl, the Vols picked up their fourth top 100 RPI road win- their seventh overall.
(Seriously, poor Bruce. He looks miserable.)
According to ESPN, the Vols moved up to 34 in the RPI ranking. Tuesday night saw Tennessee’s opponents do their part. Kentucky avoided their third straight loss, Vanderbilt won on the road at Texas A&M and momentarily moved into the top 50 of the RPI rankings (giving Tennessee an impressive road win) and Chattanooga, Tennessee’s worse loss, moved into the top 100- leaving the Vols with no losses to teams outside of the top 100.
As of February 1, the Vols have a 53.1% chance of making the NCAA tournament.
Rick Barnes and the Vols will travel to Starkville, Mississippi on Saturday for a must win a game they need to win to keep an impressive resume in tact.
