With the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals in Knoxville just days away, Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello joined the Drive on Fox Sports Knoxville Tuesday afternoon to preview the Vols upcoming series with LSU.
Coach Vitello talked about Tennessee’s huge weekend in the regional round as they went undefeated in their three games. With the SEC tournament, Regional tournament, Super Regional tournament, and the College World Series all happening within weeks of each other, Vitello also explains the team’s mindset and strategy as they navigate through postseason play for the first time.
Not to mention, Vitello also explained his thought process behind his sprint down the right-field line after Gilbert’s walk-off grand slam, and what was going through his head before he sprinted and front-flipped into the team on Sunday night.
After LSU defeated Oregon on Monday, the rematch in Knoxville between the Vols and Tigers was officially set in stone. Vitello talked about the team’s previous meeting in March in which the Vols went on to win all three games, the post-series drama, and how they can build on their previous wins in preparation for their upcoming postseason series.
And of course, Russell, Bear, and Vitello all play a can’t-miss game of “Jam or Not a Jam”.
Listen to The Drive live on Fox Sports Knoxville daily from 3-6 p.m. ET.
