Tennessee sophomore defensive back Bryce Thompson was arrested Saturday evening for misdemeanor domestic assault, stemming from an alleged argument at Stokely Hall on the University of Tennessee campus according to Knox County Jail records
According to multiple witnesses, Thompson was heard saying, “I am going to slap the (expletive) out of you” to a female who, according to a report, he was in a relationship with.
Thompson denied to police that he made any threats
Also, multiple witnesses told police verbally and in a written statement that they heard Thompson say “I am going to shoot up this school.” There was visible evidence of property damage on the scene from responding officers.
The reporting party includes a hall director, along with three other witnesses who are student athletes at the university after checking online databases
Thompson, who was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, had his bail set at $3,000 and was eligible to be bailed out after a twelve hour hold.
Tennessee has released the following statement: “We are aware of the situation and are waiting for additional information while the appropriate processes take place.”
