Tennessee DB Alontae Taylor Out For Arkansas Game

The Tennessee defensive backfield has taken a hit before the game has even kicked off in Arkansas.

Vols defensive back Alontae Taylor will miss Saturday’s game against the Razorbacks. He did not travel with the team on Friday, according to sources.

Taylor has been dealing with a hamstring injury for a while now. He’s continued to try and play through it but has been limited in practice and recent games for the Vols.

Alontae recorded five tackles against Alabama.

The Vols secondary gave up 417 passing yards to the Crimson Tide just two weeks ago. Kenneth George Jr. has been rotating in with Alontae at cornerback.

Jeremy Pruitt discussed the secondary group during his October 28th press conference, following the Alabama loss.

“I have a lot of confidence in the guys that play in our secondary. They’ve played a lot of football around here and have played some really good football at times. One of the big things is that it is pretty evident for these guys how important practice is, and unfortunately, for a lot of those guys, we got hit pretty hard in that area during fall camp. When you miss practice time there, you’ve got to be really sharp in preparation, and I think moving forward, our guys will continue to improve back there with our communication.”

Tennessee will hit the field tomorrow for a 7:30ET kickoff in Fayetteville.
