Vols
Tennessee Back On The Practice Field, Preparing For Auburn

Tennessee hit the practice field on Tuesday afternoon as they continue preparing for a trip to Auburn.

The Vols practiced on Sunday, had Monday off, and were back at it today. After having their game against Texas A&M rescheduled for later in the season, Tennessee needs this game against the Tigers. They are currently riding a four-game losing streak, while Auburn is 4-2 on the season.

The Vols are still searching for that 3rd running back, so any help Hodge could bring would be greatly appreciated by the staff. Jarrett Guarantano participated in practice again and received a nice chunk of the reps.

Brandon Kennedy spoke with the media on Tuesday and discussed how beneficial he thought the off week was for this team.

“It’s been big for us. This week, when we didn’t play, fundamentals were a big part for us. We were able to get back to the basics and bring some of the young guys along. Those were two things we were able to work on this bye week.”

There has been a lot of talk about the younger players on this Tennessee roster over the past few weeks. Jeremy Pruitt continues to say they need these group pf players to take the next step. Brandon Kennedy also spoke about a few players who stood out to him last week.

“Some of the guys like Malachi Wideman, Jimmy Holiday, Jimmy Calloway and some of those young skill players. They’ve come along and they’re progressing well, learning the plays and balling out.”

Kennedy was asked where his motivation will come from over the next four days.

“The motivation, to be honest, is really giving my all for Tennessee. About a year ago, I decided to come back. I wanted to help this team and also earn another degree, so that’s been my motivation as far as helping the team, being a leader and doing what I can do to help the team be successful.”

Getting healthy has been a huge priority for this football team, especially for linebacker Deandre Johnson.

“It’s something that was unexpected, but it was a chance to get back and recover and get mentally focused, mentally fresh, and I’m just thankful for it, it allowed me to get my body back right.”
