Zeigler Tabbed First Team by Media, Vols Projected Finish Near Top of League

The SEC has released its preseason basketball media poll ahead of SEC Media Days in Birmingham.
Representation for Tennessee is limited before tip-off of the 2024-25 season. Point guard Zakai Zeigler is the only representative for Tennessee on any of the three All-SEC preseason teams.
Zeigler joins the first team with Mark Sears of Alabama, Johni Broome of Auburn, Walter Clayton Jr. of Florida, and Wade Taylor IV of Texas A&M.

the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year was tabbed preseason first team All-SEC
The media picked Tennessee to finish third in the SEC this season behind Alabama and Auburn.
Alabama has rightfully attracted lots of attention this season, earning a #2 ranking in the AP preseason poll. Auburn currently ranks as #11 in the same poll.
Zeigler, Jahmai Mashack, and Rick Barnes will all be present tomorrow in Birmingham. They are scheduled to speak to media at 9:20 a.m. CT.
