‘You’re Running Right Back To Where Jeremy Pruitt Left You’ … Damn
By Cody McClure
How worried should we be about this football season?
How much has the outlook changed since we lost our starting quarterback to UCLA?
How will the current quarterbacks fare? How many wins are realistically on the schedule?
Many questions to be answered.
A former Alabama player and current 247Sports college football analyst, Smoke Dixon, says the Vols are going back to the Jeremy Pruitt era.
Seems drastic! Hopefully things don’t get that bad.
“You’re running right back to where Jeremy Pruitt left you,” Dixon said. “You don’t have a quarterback that can get you to 10 wins. We’re talking about the team that just lost to the national champions in the playoffs. You’re going down a level, down a step in terms of quarterback play.
“Regardless of what people think about Nico’s ability and how he played or how Tennessee’s offense was last year in terms of heavy run, 76th in passing offense, he still was a player who defensive coordinators had to stay up late at night just because if he was on, Tennessee was almost unbeatable because they played great defense as well.”
Damn.
