Tennessee has announced it will wear its “Dark Mode” uniforms Saturday against Kentucky in Neyland Stadium.

The announcement isn’t a surprise due to the matchup’s close proximity to Halloween, but it excites both fans and players alike.

This will mark the sixth time in program history Tennessee has worn black jerseys. They first appeared on Halloween of 2009 as a surprise from Lane Kiffin to the fans, and the result was a 31-13 win over South Carolina.

It will be the third time the Vols have sported black helmets as a part of the uniform in as many years. The black helmets made their debut in a 44-6 rout of Kentucky in 2022 and appeared again last season in a 41-20 victory over South Carolina.

The SEC made the decision late Saturday night to kick this game off at 7:45 p.m. ET in Neyland Stadium.

SEC Network is carrying the game.
